Reebok Wiki description

Reebok officially became Reebok in 1958, deriving from the South African word for gazelle, 'Rhebok'.

Reebok has heavy involvement in many sports, typically in the U.S, also collaborating with artists such as Jay-Z and G-Unit to expand their following.
I believe this was to try and bridge competition with Nike, the most famous and sought after brand in sneakers, and more recently collaborations with the like of Japanese brand Mita, to have the same effect.

Reebok logo development

The top date is wrong, so don't be misled. Reebok only became 'Reebok' in 1958, which means that would be the date to match the first logo.

In my opinion, Reebok have made some bad design choices in the past although I quite like their present logo and branding.

Existing and old Reebok packaging for sneakers.

Reebok: 30 Years of Classics

This brief has been set by Nigel, who I will be collaborating with. We're still in talks over the final details, but this is the brief he has emailed me so far.

I am looking forward to collaborating with Nigel, we share a similar passion for street culture and the urban environment as well as clear, crisp design.
"Design the packaging for the sneaker as well as creating a visual identity and range of promotional materials in celebration of 30 years of the Reebok classic leather. The identity must capture the evolution of the brand and also reconnect with the brands core demographic. Consider creating an online presence to create awareness for the new sneaker as well as the promotional event."
Research into exclusive sneaker releases and events incorporated with the release of sneakers is mandatory, exploring what's already been done and what the possibilities could be. There will be a high focus on the detail and execution as much as there will be on the materials used etc.

Research will also need to be sourced about the history of Reebok, with a main focus on the 'Classic' silhouette. We will be looking into how it is perceived in and out of the sneaker world.
